UFH OVERVIEW

At Brit Home Design & Build, we specialise in the engineering of Underfloor Heating (UFH) systems that turn your floor into a high-performance radiator. Unlike traditional radiators that create hot spots and draughts through convection, UFH uses radiant heat to warm the room from the ground up. This results in a more natural thermal profile, total architectural freedom with no wall-mounted units, and significantly higher energy efficiency—especially when paired with modern heat pump technology.

PRECISION RADIANT HEATING ENGINEERING

We provide complete UFH solutions, from initial CAD layouts and manifold positioning to the installation of oxygen-barrier pipework and smart, multi-zone controls. By calculating the specific thermal resistance of your chosen floor finish—whether stone, wood, or carpet—we ensure your system is calibrated to deliver the perfect BTU output for every room.

THERMAL PERFORMANCE

Hydraulic Balancing & Flow Rates
The secret to even heat is hydraulic balancing. Our engineers calculate the exact loop length for every circuit, adjusting the flow meters on the manifold to ensure that even the furthest room receives the correct thermal energy, preventing cold spots and ensuring rapid warm-up times.

Thermal Mass & Floor Finishes
We conduct “Floor Finish Analysis” to adjust pipe spacing based on the thermal conductivity of your flooring. Whether it’s high-conductivity porcelain tiles or low-conductivity engineered oak, we ensure the heat emission is optimized for the specific material properties of your finish.

Insulation & Edging Detail
Heat should only go up. We install high-grade PIR insulation boards and perimeter edge expansion strips. This creates a “thermal swimming pool” effect, preventing heat from escaping into the subfloor or walls, and allowing the floor slab to expand and contract safely without cracking.

Hydronic (Wet) System Efficiency

Our water-based systems are engineered for maximum COP (Coefficient of Performance). By utilizing large surface areas, we can run the system at ultra-low flow temperatures (35°C–45°C), making it the perfect partner for Air Source Heat Pumps and condensing boilers, significantly reducing energy bills.

Low-Profile Retrofit Solutions

For renovation projects where floor heights are restricted, we offer advanced "overlay" systems. At just 15mm–18mm thick, these high-density panels allow for the installation of wet UFH directly over existing floors without the need for structural excavation or significant door-trimming.

Smart Multi-Zone Controlling

Total control is key to efficiency. Our installations feature independent actuators on the manifold, allowing every room to be controlled by its own smart thermostat. This ensures you only heat the spaces you are using, precisely when you need them, controllable via smartphone.

What Makes Us Stand Out?

Our priority is delivering efficient, reliable, and cost-effective underfloor heating solutions tailored to each property’s needs.

WATER-BASED UNDERFLOOR HEATING

We install high-performance hydronic systems that circulate warm water through durable pipe networks beneath the floor.

ELECTRIC UNDERFLOOR HEATING

Our electric heating mats and cable systems are perfect for renovations and smaller spaces. They are quick to install, easy to control, and deliver fast, even warmth with minimal floor height increase.

ENERGY EFFICIENT & SMART CONTROLLED

All our systems are designed for maximum efficiency and can be integrated with smart thermostats and zoning controls.
